EXHIBIT DISASSEMBLY
The PFP team has dismantled numerous permanent exhibits, including historic dioramas and fossil mounts. They carefully consider their client’s vision for the new exhibition before beginning the disassembly, and develop a complete plan that addresses issues of protection, support, transportation, restoration and storage.
MOUNT MAKING
The PFP team has extensive experience in the design, fabrication and installation of mounts for real fossil material as well as other natural history artifacts and specimens.
DIORAMAS AND SIMULATED ENVIRONMENTS
The PFP team is experienced in fabrication and renovation of natural history dioramas as well as the creation of museum quality simulated environments.
MODEL MAKING
The PFP team includes skilled sculptors and artists who produce detailed and scientifically accurate scale models of flora and fauna.
MOLDING AND CASTING
To augment their work with “real material,” the PFP team includes skilled mold makers who produce high quality casts for display and study.
PREPARATION, CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION
The PFP team provides museum quality preparation, conservation and restoration for fossils as well as other natural history specimens and artifacts.
RIGGING
Many of the large specimens that the PFP team works on require extensive rigging both during disassembly and assembly. PFP has a flawless safety record and has never damaged or put a specimen at risk. Their experience has also given them a keen appreciation of working within the confines of historic buildings and full exhibit halls.
CRATING AND SHIPPING
The PFP team packs and transports all types of natural history specimens and artifacts, including large fossils, utilizing a wide variety of materials and approaches to assure maximum protection and manageability.
